Target Audience: This course is designed for physicians, PAs, NPs and RNs who see patients with or at risk for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Course Description: This course is an STI Update offering state-ofthe-art instruction in epidemiological, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections. Course material will emphasize new developments in the management of syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and other nongonococcal infections, and advances in prevention including expedited partner therapy (EPT) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
Course Objectives: At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe changing patterns of syphilis clinical presentation.
- Discuss trends in gonorrhea antimicrobial resistance.
- Describe clinical care of patients with chlamydia and other nongonococcal infections.
- Implement evidence-based strategies for STI prevention.
