Vanessa Mills is the founder and former Executive Director of Empower “U”, a minority, peer-based and managed organization founded by and for people living with HIV/AIDS in Miami-Dade County. Mills created Empower “U” in 1999 to empower, educate and promote better health care choices for individuals and families infected with and affected by health disparities, particularly HIV/AIDS, and populations at risk for HIV infections.
