This training hosted by the Denver PTC will discuss the health of LGBT people, including HIV, the use of proper terminology and pronouns when interacting with transgender patients and ways staff can create a positive clinical experience for LGBT patients. Interactive exercises and practice opportunities will be incorporated into the workshop. With the following goals but not limited to:

  1.  Provide medical staff with actionable tasks to address bias, health literacy, and disparities among their LGBTQ patients.
  2. Discuss lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender health disparities.
  3. Practice proper terminology and pronouns when interacting with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender patients.
  4. Identify ways to create a positive clinical experience for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender patients across the spectrum of a clinic visit.
