The course, an intensive overview of STDs, includes 14 hours of lecture over two days via webinar (clinical training will be scheduled on a case by case basis).

COURSE OBJECTIVES:  At the end of this course participants will be able to:

  1. Describe clinical features of common STDs.
  2. Demonstrate improved skills in completing STD history and physical exam.
  3. Integrate HIV risk assessment into patient care.
  4. Demonstate universal precautions during specimen collection.
  5. Describe the process of partner notification and contact tracing.
  6. Discuss recent changes to the CDCs STD Treatment guidelines.
  7. Identify current point-of-care tests available for STD diagnosis.
  8. Recognize the sign and symptoms of Primary, latent and late latent syphilis.
  9. List current vaccines available for STDs.
