Description

Join the MidAtlantic AETC on Tuesday, December 1 and Wednesday, December 2, 2020 to celebrate World AIDS Day!  These events will be hosted virtually and include both didactic presentations, interactive networking sessions, and time for questions and discussion with expert speakers.

According to the CDC, more than 36.9 million people are living with HIV worldwide. Recent scientific breakthroughs as well as various prevention efforts now point to the possibility of an AIDS Free generation.  The World AIDS Day 2020 conference will bring together experts in the fields of HIV and Trauma-Informed Care in order to enable physicians, nurses and other HIV care providers to develop skills to improve clinical outcomes and service delivery in a diverse population.  Experts will discuss the intersection of HIV and trauma with a variety of methods and modalities.

MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center (MA AETC) provides HIV/AIDS education, consultation, technical assistance and resource materials to health care professionals throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

Professionals outside the intended audience geographic service area are welcome to attend, however should contact their local accrediting body to confirm availability of CME or CEU.

LSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT: 3.5 credit hours of continuing education is provided through co-sponsorship of the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, a PA-approved provider of social work continuing education. These credit hours satisfy requirements for LSW renewal.
