Marie-Fatima Hyacinthe

Black AIDS Institute (BAI)

Marie-Fatima Hyacinthe (Fatima) leads the training and capacity building work of the Black AIDS Institute. In this role, she facilitates trainings about PrEP, medical mistrust, and other topics relating to social determinants of health. Fatima also liaises with various chapters of the Black Treatment Advocates Network (BTAN) and leads the Institute’s programming for Black women. Fatima hails from Brooklyn, New York, and is a proud daughter of Haitian immigrants. Her previous position was working with the community she came from as Special Assistant to the Commissioner in the NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs. In this position, Hyacinthe handled special events for the Commissioner and provided support to the senior staff. She graduated from Harvard University with a degree in government and global health, which has continued to inform and guide her work.
