This webinar will increase provider capacity to conduct effective sexual health assessments and provide culturally relevant HIV prevention and care services tailored to address the specific sexual health needs of TMSM (trans men who have sex with men).
By the end of this webinar participants will be able to:
- Describe the diversity of sexual orientation and expression in trans men who have sex with men (TMSM)
- Conduct appropriate sexual health assessments for TMSM
- Increase their capacity to provide culturally responsive HIV prevention and care services to address issues unique to TMSM
Presenters:
Shawn Demmon, MPH
is a passionate community advocate who has organized and participated in numerous community events to increase public education and awareness about issues affecting those most marginalized in society such as prisoners and people with a history of incarceration, newly HIV diagnosed individuals living in low-income communities, and transgender communities. Shawn currently works with the UCSF Center of Excellence for Transgender Health where he provides capacity building and technical assistance to community based-organizations engaged in high-impact HIV prevention with trans and non-binary communities.
Bennett Reagan, BS
began working as a program assistant for the CBA Department, Shared Action HD, and soon after moved into his current role as a CBA Advisor. As a CBA Advisor Bennett is responsible for providing technical assistance, trainings, and information transfer to health departments across the country.
